Prior History:
Patient is a paraplegic living in his own home with his wife. Patient is able to ambulate using electric wheelchair. Patient also requires assistance of a PCA on a daily basis for activities of daily living and wound care. Patient’s wound developed while staying in a nursing facility. MRSA noted.
Treatment Protocol:
AHI’s Program begun. EMPT BID ordered and TRUHEAL Catalytic Nanosilver™ Solution used during dressing changes and cleaning.
Standard Care:
Wound Cleanser, Honey Med dressing, Calcium Alginate and Allevyn.
Starting Measurement:
Left Ischial: Starting Measurement – 3.0 cm x 1.0 cm x 2.9 cm with undermining measuring 3.0 cm.
Starting Measurement:
Right Ischial: Starting Measurement – 3.4 cm x 2.2 cm x 1.1 cm with undermining measuring 3.7 cm
Patient Outcome:
Left Ischial wound healed within approximately 180 days. Right Ischial wound 97% healed by volume within 190 days.
