Formulary Committee Overview

Purpose

The purpose of Advanced Healing System's Formulary Committee is to provide a forum for the ongoing evaluation of Advanced Healing System's Wound Care Formulary in order for that Formulary to drive AHS’ overall mission: to become the world leader in wound healing information, technology, and outcomes.

Primary Function

The primary function of Advanced Healing Systems’ Formulary Committee is to ensure that AHS’ Wound Care Formulary leads the wound healing market by creating the knowledge, tools and processes for Formulary users to drive the fastest wound healing at the lowest cost.

It will do that by guiding assessment of the effectiveness and cost effectiveness of wound healing modalities and by ensuring that knowledge gained from those assessments translates into actionable processes for Formulary users.

The Formulary Committee provides a stabilizing influence into the fragmented Wound Care market of the health care industry by understanding, developing and recommending wound healing products, processes and tools. Members of the Formulary Committee ensure clinical objectives are being adequately addressed. In practice these responsibilities are carried out by performing the following functions:

  • Ensuring safety, efficacy and clinical suitability of AHS’ Wound Care Formulary
  • Holding sole authority to specify the content of AHS’ Wound Care Formulary (products, processes, tools, and guidelines)
  • Developing clinical process recommendations
  • Developing clinical treatment recommendations
  • Developing product utilization recommendations, including formulary products, processes, tools and guidelines as well as processes, test plans and standards for assessment of formulary components
  • Monitoring and approving the publication of clinical outcomes related to Formulary products, processes, assessments, and clinical experiences
  • Consulting as appropriate with AHS Formulary Users / other clinicians to discuss formulary recommendations and outcomes
  • Engaging in ongoing self-evaluation to ensure that AHS’ Wound Care Formulary remains up to date with current medical and wound care practice and is responsive to the needs of Formulary users
