Document and Report
AHS Wound Data Portal

AHS has created a user friendly, HIPAA-compliant, web-based, wound data portal sufficient to document, record, and report wound data and outcomes for all of the patients and wounds being treated using AHS’ Wound Care Formulary.
- Clinicians can add patients
- Follow patients with multiple wounds
- Document wound resolution through measurements, descriptions, and photographs
- Report, defend and compare outcomes
As a fundamental component of the wound data portal and wound record, AHS strongly recommends that formulary adopters use the capability of the Wound Data Portal that allows for ongoing photo documentation of wound status / progress. AHS has developed a rationale, described below for inclusion of the photographic record of the wound.

Overview: Photographic Wound Documentation
Advanced Healing Systems believes that consistent photographic documentation of wounds comprises one of three primary methods essential for chronicling wound status.
While it is commonly accepted that capturing regular (at a minimum, weekly) measurement and narrative description of wounds is a foundational component of wound documentation, there has been some disagreement among experts about whether photographic documentation of wounds adds to, or detracts from the wound documentation process.
Advanced Healing Systems firmly believes that a consistent photographic documentation of a wound from inception through healing adds to the clinical record and helps patients and providers to understand wound etiology and appropriate healing processes.
Additional benefit of consistently photographing wounds include enhanced ability to share information with relevant providers, thereby reducing the potential for conflicting diagnoses or prescriptions, as well as reduced time required for coordination of cares between internal caregivers who can access status online.
