Formulary Component: Educate and Train

Educate and Train

Education and Training in AHS’ Formulary

Advanced Healing Systems takes great pride in having created a Wound Care Formulary Program or System that gives the health care system the tools it needs to heal wounds.  Whether you are an individual requiring care, a provider associated with a facility, a solo practitioner, home health care agency, long term care facility, integrated health system, or payor such as an insurer or government agency all the tools and training required to solve your wound problem is included in AHS’ Wound Care Formulary Processes.

A critical component of the program is the education and training process that AHS performs with its clients so that the care providers all understand the requirements of the system and the components that drive program success.

Strategy and Implementation Plan and Critical Success Factors

Our facility program includes on-site training with the Facility Administrator, Medical Director, Directors of Nursing and Unit Managers.  Subsequent training involves all relevant care providers within the facility.  In addition, AHS follow-up includes weekly review of wound progress in the early stages of implementation and regular and periodic review for as long as the facility continues using AHS’ Wound Care Formulary.

Wound Care Guideline

Advanced Healing Systems has completed a Wound Care Guideline containing AHS’ recommendations for the addition of AHS’ Wound Care Formulary as adjunctive care to standard wound care practices.  Currently available for Pressure Ulcers, Arterial, Venous and Diabetic wounds, this step-by-step guideline walks users through application of the AHS Wound Care Formulary.

Implementation Manual

Implementation of the AHS Formulary at a new site always includes AHS Implementation Binder.  Filled with the information and steps required to successfully launch the program at a facility, the binder includes materials such as:

  • Scientific basis for wound healing and Formulary protocols
  • Frequently asked questions
  • Technology manuals
  • Policies and procedures
  • Success strategies
